Curious about your fellow photographers - wonder what makes them tick?
Why don't we find out a little about each other?
Simply introduce yourself with as much information as you are willing to share.
C'mon guys lets get to know each other - we already have a common interest so let's build on that.
I'll break the ice.
I am a 30's something introvert female, with a sense of humour, who struggles from mental illness ( Borderline Personality Disorder ).
I was born in Zimbabwe but have spent most of my life in Scotland.
I took up photography a year ago just after I was diagnosed as a way to explore and express my world.
I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 and hope to one day own a DSLR and some decent kit.
My passions are wildlife and anything African, photography, writing, poetry, and philosophy.
I sell my work at craft fairs/shows and have one retailer stocking my work. However, I am not accomplished enough or talented enough to earn a living from my photography. I can dream -right??
Hello - I am a Grandmother and I have a wide variety of interests. Travel, African wildlife, nature, photography, T'ai Chi, music, my garden, pets and dancing. I play bridge and can't get enough of Sudoku.
Also interested in what the world is up to, tho' I have to admit I am at a loss to understand what we are doing to our fellow humans, and of course more importantly to our planet Earth.
I'm a forty-something father of two and entrepreneur. I caught the photo bug at a very young age and have stuck with it, off and on, ever since. I can afford good kit now, but don't have the time to use it much- isn't that always the rub. I have traveled extensively (by bicycle when younger) and photography is my remaining creative outlet- I was originally an architect. Also, unabashedly liberal, at least by American standards.
Hello, I'm a twenty-something novice photographer from Florida, originally from New England-miss it. I started really getting into photography earlier this year after my boyfriend bought me a Canon Powershot SD600. I have been working crazy hours everyday to pay my student loans and photography is my creative outlet so I wont go crazy myself. I studied fine arts for many years, painting was my first passion, with this background I feel as though photography comes natural. I'd like to get good enough to make a decent living. I look forward to meeting my fellow photographers on here and trading inspirations!
Hi, I'm a thirty-something -DOH- forty-one year old SAHM of two. I've been taking photos since I was in high school, studied it in college, worked as a photographer prior to entering med school...picked it back up after I had my son and dropped the physician gig. I do some free-lancing here and there, but my passion is the fine art stuff. I've had some shows over the years but I shoot for myself.
I'm still pretty old school with my stuff...shoot film and don't usually manipulate digitally. I don't even generally crop. I do want to go digital, but haven't made the leap yet.
I've been taking photos since I was a kid. I finally got a half-way decent digital (kodak easyshare dx7630) 2 years ago and have absolutely LOVED it. It was a huge improvement over the sony mavica that I had that stored photos on 3-1/2" diskettes LOL
Most of my shots are of my kids or nature. Living in Northern New Hampshire, I am pretty lucky with the local scenery. I am hoping to learn more about the manual settings on my camera to make it work FOR me. I'm getting ready to submit a photo to the town's photo contest this week, my first competition-type thing. :) Oh, and I'm "reflections" on here as well.
Good luck with the competition ! Let us know how you got on.
Hi I'm Amber. I wouldn't dare call myself photographer- but I want to learn how to take better pictures which is why I'm here. I'm hoping to glean some knowledge from the rest of you all.
I live in Northern Utah where I just moved to from Las Vegas- which is where I consider home to be. I'm a SAHM to four little girls between the ages of 8 and 2. (Yes I'm busy).
I never considered myself an artist or to have artistic ability as a child, but I've discovered my art form in Cake, sugar and frosting. What's better then art you can eat? (Except maybe art that makes you skinny.)
Really I want to learn to take better pictures of my cakes and better pictures of my kids (and probably in that order- ;) )
I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX07 camera.
My blood type is A+ and my shoe size is 9 1/2 (am I getting too personal?)
Glad to meet you all.
LOL Amber - good to see you here. Hopefully we can all learn from each other and have fun at the same time.
