Christine, I have sold a few of my photographs/designs online through ImageKind.com (US/Canada based) and photobox.co.uk (UK/Europe).

With photobox you can set up a professional account(free)and you can stipulated what you will sell, be it prints (various sizes) to the usual prints on mugs, t-shirts etc. etc. and at what price/mark-up.

I primarily use photobox as my online photo lab and can get images delivered within 1-2 days... and I have found the quality and service to be superb.

The more you buy, the cheaper they are and you are rewarded with more storage room. As I sell at craft fairs, and mount and frame my photos myself this set up is ideal for me. However, I worry that customers do not find the site that easy to navigate.

I include the web addy on business cards and postcards at the craft shows, have info on my blog and occasionally do a plug on my blog.

I have yet to really get serious about marketing and selling my work online so maybe others who have more experience can best advise you.

I'd be interested in hearing a bit more about some online experiences... good or bad places to sell through, if it's worth it in the long run. I'm just starting to think about this right now, so I'm open to hearing it all LOL

I'm selling my images on: stockxpert, shutterstock... and other microstock agencies but on alamy and acclaim images too...

It's a hard job, but I'm doing my best. I make a living from my images. (you can read more on my blogs)

S*

Photography is mainly a hobby for me, but I started selling my work on Etsy last year. Sales are slow, but it only costs $0.20 to list an item and it stays up for 3 months at a time.

I have not used it myself but have heard really good things about http://www.redbubble.com/

I myself use many different ways of spreading the word about my photography including myspace http://www.myspace.com/sweetp410 , my personal website http://www.sweetp410.com and I am also starting to sell some of my work on Redbubble, http://www.redbubble.com/sweetp410. & as of just a few days ago I have become part of CRE8BUZZ :) The rest of my work I either do freelance and that mainly comes from referrals and word of mouth.

I'm giving ImageKind.com a try but no luck yet :-) http://www.imagekind.com/GalleryProfile.aspx?gid=3931097c-2577-4b4d-a3f8-256bbe975b22
